January February 2009 Newsletter

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hey Everyone welcome to 2009. This year promises to be a great year.

We have HUGE News!

THELOFT Hair Studio has MOVED!!!

We are really excited to introduce you to our new location.

33821 South Fraser Way

We are located right next to Champagne and Lace.

The new location has the same warmth as the old one with even more of a cozier feel and way more space. Heather and I have been working there over the holidays to make it our own. We have a few more things that will be coming in the future but we are thrilled with how everything is turning out!

All of my contact information and payment options are staying the same, so in that regard nothing has changed.

We don't plan on having a sign out on the front of the building right away but our sandwich board is out front and the name is on the door. We are the little two unit building right between Champagne and Lace and the brick building with the LED store in it.

Introducing to THELOFT
Hair Studio

KEVIN.MURPHY

KEVIN.MURPHY is a fashion focused range of salon only, professional, hair care products that was conceived in the world of session styling. The range includes shampoos, conditioners, treatments and styling products, which have all been designed for specific hair types. Whatever your hair’s texture, you’ll find the products that will make your hair look like you’ve just stepped off the catwalk. All our products contain high levels of natural ingredients and we use high grade essential oils and amino acids for the ultimate hair and scalp treatment. You’ll see the effects immediately.

While working on hair at fashion shows, Kevin noticed that most of models come through "hair and make-up" many times in one day. Kevin found that as a day progressed, the models' hair became heavy, dull and lifeless. There were no styling products on the market that fitted the needs of an editorial stylist so he created his own. Kevin found that in answering his own needs as a stylist, he had created products that were easy to use and crossed over perfectly to consumers.

ECO.FRIENDLY Methodology-->
CULTURE: ENVIRONMENTAL HARM REDUCTION-->We consider the environment in all our business decisions and try as much as possible to find cleaner, more sustainable methods of doing business. Our bottles and tubs can be recycled so please don't let them end up in land-fill. Whenever possible, we make our outer packaging from post consumer waste to avoid the need for trees to be chopped down.Australia is such a long way from the USA and Europe, our two largest markets, so we have decided to move the manufacturing and distribution of KEVIN.MURPHY products to the USA. This will remove the need to ship full product to the USA and reduce the shipping distance to Europe by more than half. These decisions will substantially reduce the carbon dioxide emitted by the KEVIN.MURPHY business from shipping. KEVIN.MURPHY will remain a completely Australian owned and run business. We do not test any of our products on animals.

At Kevin Murphy we recognize the seriousness of dangerous climate change. In an effort to help educate the public and drive reductions in global carbon pollution we are supporting the Australian Conservation Foundation and its outreach work to the Australian community.Find out how you can make a difference.

Recipe

Caledon Oatmeal

This is a great recipe from the Eat-Clean Cookbook. This oatmeal recipe is great! Enjoy!

You can alter the ingredients depending on the season. In the winter enjoy dried cranberries and plenty of cinnamon and nutmeg. In the spring add raisins and vanilla. It's a forgiving dish that can be made to suit your taste. I measure out the dry ingredients the night before so all you have to do is add the liquid ingredients in the morning.

Ingredients:

2 cups old-fashion oats

2 cups low-fat milk or soy milk

1/2 tsp best quality vanilla

1/2 cup slivered almonds

1/2 cup dried cranberries or other dried fruit of your choice

1 large grated apple (apple should be firm)

4 Tbsp maple syrup

Cooking spray

1.preheat oven to 400. Coat a 3 quart (large) casserole dish or baking pan with cooking spray.

2. combine all ingredients in a large bowl. If you are preparing this the night before don't add the liquid ingredients such as milk and grated apple until morning.

3. Place mixture in a casserole dish. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

May June Newsletter 2008

Well Hi Everybody!

It's been a while since I've sent out my bi-monthly newsletter and that's because I've been reformatting it so that everyone can view it. From now on you will get a link that will take you right here, keep it in your favourites and visit back often. I am still going to have all the great things that we had before, plus a few extras. Please feel free to send us your comments if you desire.

Here are the lucky winners of our Girls Night Out Promotion. We got to watch Rascall Flatts and Taylor Swift from the comfort of our luxury suite in GM Place. We were treated like royalty; amazing appetizers, an even better dinner and scrumptious dessert and beverages. The concert was great and so was the company. Thank you to our clients that participated.

**Just a reminder to everyone that I will be on holiday's from May 27th to June 3rd so make sure you book those appointments early so you get a time that's convenient for you either before I go or after I get back.**

Starting again May 1st is my

Our last year's winner Louise Loewen's year is almost up and now it could be your turn.

Recipe
This is a great new, very easy Chicken recipe that I just tried and the family ate it up.

4 skinless boneless chicken breasts
cooking spray or olive oil if preferred
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp ground cloves
3 cloves garlic, minced

spray chicken breasts with cooking spray. Combine oregano, allspice, cumin, cloves and garlic in a large bowl. Add chicken breasts and cover with the herb mixture. Cook on preheated grill over medium heat for about 30min.
Best served with wild rice.
